Another Way Old Post and Walk Down Memory Lane

Back in 2006/7 in Sacramento, my best friend A and I would silkscreen our doodles onto shirts we either dumpstered or found or whatever, free was what we could afford. Then we would go to events at the Greenhouse, which was a giant cooperative hippy house smack dab in the middle of midtown and all the art walk action, and sell them. Back then there was kind of a lapse in spaces to have house shows, or really shows in general. The Greenhouse started opening up their backyard to shows during Second Saturdays, and although it was kind of a hippie scene, it was still nice to get that house show, diy, community vibe. Bands would play out back in a gazebo, and the rest of us would party in a christmas light lit beautiful garden. I have a lot of fond memories of the Greenhouse, for stepping up and being a space when the city was lacking, albeit it wasn't really my scene. This is one of the shirt designs I found that I would sell then.
